PORT SCHOOL
Port School is an independent school located in Hamilton Hill that specialises in working with at risk students from years 8-12.
Its students are unsuitable for mainstream schooling, for a variety of reasons such as social, behavioural and academic issues. Port School is a growing school which is in need of a new middle school to be added to its master plan.
This project will explore missed opportunities and the possible expansion of the school to propose a design that improves safety, the learning environment and quality of teaching for its students.

CALVINO TO KALGOORLIE
In this project, students were asked to imagine and design a space based on a short story by Italo Calvino, before adapting the design to be situated in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia.
As the project evolved, students were asked to expand the design to form a civic building incorporating facilities such as a children's library and amphitheatre, in keeping with the site context.

This project was completed by a group of 14 students in partnership with Hames Sharley, and explored missed opportunities on Rottnest Island to propose new design ideas to improve and increase tourist appeal.
This project was sponsored by Forbo Flooring, and their products were incorporated in the proposed design.
